My name is Lê Trang. I am a first-generation graduate student at Oregon State University, currently under supervision to provide individual and group therapy. I am shaped by my experiences as an immigrant, a child of war survivors, and a failed model minority.
My approach is to slow down, be with, and weave through. Holding both personal and systemic lenses, I recognize the interconnectedness and interdependence of individual experiences and the collective context, including social, cultural, and historical forces. My vocation and commitment to healing therefore lie at the intersection of personal and social transformation. Currently training in ecopsychology, I support people in understanding, expanding, and deepening the ecology of their psyche, often understood in Eurocentric society as an individualistic interior experience, as well as the psychology of their ecology: the communities they sing with, the land we breathe from, and the lineages they echo.
The word psyche in Vietnamese is tâm, which also means heart, soul, or center. I invite you on a journey of self-centering in relation to, and in response to, the collective centering being called forth in everyday life.
보리밥 (Boribap) is an 8 human-year-old creature in the body of a dog and the mind of a cat. He was adopted during a time when his human mother was at war with herself; therefore, he represents and embodies settledness. He enjoys settling for hours at local coffee shops in Seattle or settling through the seasons on Alpine hikes. Bystanders often liken him to the luckdragon from The NeverEnding Story. It is widely agreed that he brings luck and light to his mother’s life and to the beings he boops.
