I believe that people heal through relationships. Whether that is a relationship to yourself, others, nature/animals, or spirituaIity I am here to help you find healing through connection.
As a systemically-trained therapist, therapy with me will include understanding the impact of your environment on yourself and others. You can expect to explore not only your current needs, but how you are impacted by the family, communities, culture, ancestors, and physical location you come from as well as how societal and political systems impact who you are and how you navigate the world.
Being neurodivergent myself, I have a deep understanding of what it feels like to live in a world not built for neurodivergent people. If you are neurodivergent, you can expect to explore how being neurodivergent has impacted who you are and how you relate to others/the world in an affirming, empathetic, and non-judgemental way.
I hold a certificate in Ecotherapies, which means I am passionate about including the natural world into our therapy process however that may look for you.
Our therapeutic process will focus deeply on emotion work, meaning that we'll take time to explore deeper, underlying emotions that you may not have been given time and space to sit with. We will look at your past and present to gain insight into your emotional processes and take time to feel and process past and present experiences of hurt or trauma.
Lastly, I love bringing warmth and humor into my practice. I hope to make you feel as cared for and as safe as possible while we explore experiences that can be very heavy. I'll be there to support you in all the ways I can.
Modalities that I utilize with clients are Emotionally Focused Therapy/ attachment-based therapies, Socio-Emotional Relationship Therapy, Ecopsychology/Ecotherapy, Existential Therapy, and Intergenerational Family Therapy.
Finn is my two year old Great Pyrenees mix. When I adopted him, I didn't know he would grow to be 110 pounds of pure cuddles and sass. You may hear him barking from miles away-- he has a lot to say! He's loyal, protective, silly, and wants to be best friends with every cat he's ever seen. (That hasn't worked out for him so far.)
Maple was a stray cat I started feeding one day who chose to stick around and put up with Finn and me. She is the sweetest girl, loves rubbing against Finn and then swatting him, and of course, trying to trip me by flopping over for pets two steps ahead of wherever I'm going.
