I enter every session with the belief that healing happens in relationships where we are met with compassion, connection, and safety. My goal in our work together is to create a warm, affirming, and collaborative space where together we can gently explore your emotions with support and care.
As a queer, fat counselor, I especially love supporting people in larger bodies, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those navigating challenges related to body image and disordered eating. I understand how cultural messaging and systemic oppression can shape our relationship with our bodies and our sense of self. I invite curiosity and care into the process of unlearning internalized stigma and reconnecting with the body as a source of wisdom, joy, and resistance.
My approach is somatically oriented, and my practice is informed by Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Narrative Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Together, we can gently and slowly connect with your emotions and tune into your body’s present-moment experience.
In my time off, you can find me strolling around the dog park with my partner and our two pups, knitting in cafes, or trying out a new recipe at home.
Pippa is a 10-year-old chihuahua mix who is a super snuggly sunbather. She honors her hunger and will let you know when she wants a treat! Gromit, a 15-year old Pomchi, is an anxious boy who prefers to be perched on a pile of pillows while receiving gentle head scritches. They would both love to meet you, and will sometimes give a little bark or a loud snore during our sessions together.
