Connection is a basic human need—not a luxury. We all need to feel heard, seen, and not alone; to trust that when we reach out, someone will reach back. Yet many of us aren’t sure how to create that kind of connection, or where to begin. When the need for authentic connection becomes stronger than the fear of change or the pull of old patterns, meaningful change becomes not just possible, but inevitable. I’ll meet you at the edge of that necessary, challenging growth with compassion, curiosity, and attunement—cheering you on while respecting that you are the expert on your own life.
My approach is creative, collaborative, and gently directive, drawing primarily from attachment-based, systemic, and experiential models of therapy, as well as trauma-informed neuroscience. In sessions, we will work collaboratively in the here-and-now to enact change by exploring what gets in the way. That exploration looks like getting really curious about family/caretaker history, cultural upbringing, socioeconomic context, the stories you’ve learned about who you are and how you’re allowed to exist in the world, and the emotional experiences associated with all these things. If your family story didn’t have a chapter for you, you’re in the right place.
I also integrate strengths from my lifelong experience as a musician, artist, and intersectional advocate as powerful tools for healing. My greatest strength, however, is that I've survived my own life. I am viscerally familiar with the exhaustion of barely surviving—of being told you’re “too much,” “not enough,” or that you don’t belong. I also know what it’s like to move beyond survival, and how much courage that journey takes– and I believe in your ability to get there too. You do belong. You don’t have to carry it all alone. A connected, vibrant, and fulfilling life is possible. Reach out, and I will reach back. Let’s do this!
Tony is an 8 y/o disabled, long-haired chihuahua mix, and certified angel baby. Rescued from the borderlands of Texas, this lil cinnamon boy absolutely hates the cold and lives for cozy snuggle time. He loves people, and will occasionally announce his presence as co-therapist through little borks.
Sula is a 6 y/o sassy, savannah kitty. She is equal parts sweet lil baby/pure menace, and can occasionally be seen doing co-therapy through cuddling, yowling, stepping on the keyboard, sitting on the keyboard, more yowling, and/or demanding to be held like a baby. She’s a gorgeous girl who loves camera time, but like any star, she needs her alone time in equal measure. She’d love to meet you!– then go do her own thing.
Gary is a 6 y/o disabled cockatiel who, despite being the size of a gyoza, is the undisputed alpha pet of the family. He loves preening, eating, and pining after his one and only true love: my partner. He’s not a very big fan of therapy, as he prefers to stay atop his bird castle surveilling the other animals and gazing longingly out the window for his true loves return.
