Our lives are built in relationships–to ourselves, to others, and to the world. We all need to feel connected, seen, and safe; to trust that when we reach out, someone will reach back. Yet these very relationships, when marred by distress and trauma, can leave us feeling isolated, unwanted, misunderstood, and rejected– as if there is nowhere we belong. As devastating and all-consuming as these experiences may feel:
You do belong. You don’t have to carry it all alone. A connected, vibrant, and fulfilling life is possible.
In therapy, we’ll work collaboratively toward desired change; creating pathways that allow you to “return home to yourself”. This means learning to step out of frozen or reactive states, practicing vulnerability in a safe, supportive environment, and exploring what authentic empowerment looks like; both for yourself and in relationships with others. I’ll walk beside you on this journey of growth with compassion, curiosity, and attunement—cheering you on while respecting that you are the expert on your own life.
My approach is warm, creative, holistic, and gently directive, drawing primarily from attachment-based, systemic, somatic, and experiential models of therapy, and trauma-informed neuroscience. I also integrate strengths and perspectives from my lived experience as an artist, advocate, and trauma survivor. My life has taught me what it takes to move beyond survival and how much courage that takes– and I believe in your ability to get there too. Reach out, and I will reach back. Let’s do this!
Tony is an 8 y/o disabled, long-haired chihuahua mix, and certified angel baby. Rescued from the borderlands of Texas, this lil cinnamon boy absolutely hates the cold and lives for cozy snuggle time. He loves people, and will occasionally announce his presence as co-therapist through little borks.
Sula is a 6 y/o sassy, savannah kitty. She is equal parts sweet lil baby/pure menace, and can occasionally be seen doing co-therapy through cuddling, yowling, stepping on the keyboard, sitting on the keyboard, more yowling, and/or demanding to be held like a baby. She’s a gorgeous girl who loves camera time, but like any star, she needs her alone time in equal measure. She’d love to meet you!– then go do her own thing.
Gary is a 6 y/o disabled cockatiel who, despite being the size of a gyoza, is the undisputed alpha pet of the family. He loves preening, eating, and pining after his one and only true love: my partner. He’s not a very big fan of therapy, as he prefers to stay atop his bird castle surveilling the other animals and gazing longingly out the window for his true loves return.
