Relationships are complex, especially when partners are navigating neurodivergence, trauma histories, identity development, communication differences, or major life transitions. Sometimes weekly therapy doesn’t feel like enough—or doesn’t move at a pace that matches the urgency of what you’re facing.
A couples therapy intensive offers an alternative. Instead of spreading out one hour at a time, intensives give us 3-6 hours of deep, uninterrupted work. This extended time allows us to slow down, explore underlying patterns, regulate the nervous system, and create real movement toward repair or clarity.
Couples therapy intensives can be supportive if you and your partner(s) are:
Feeling stuck in recurring conflicts or communication loops
Navigating mismatched neurotypes, sensory needs, or differences in emotional processing
Working through a recent rupture or betrayal
Moving through transitions such as cohabitation, parenting, separation exploration, or opening/closing a relationship
Wanting to reconnect after disconnection or burnout
Hoping to gain clarity on the direction of your relationship
Wanting to build skills more efficiently than weekly therapy allows
While each intensive is tailored to your relationship, sessions often include:
A structured exploration of each partner’s needs, styles, and stress responses
Communication coaching using real-time examples
Mapping relationship dynamics, patterns, or cycles
Skill-building for co-regulation, conflict de-escalation, and repair
Support in navigating neurodivergent differences (sensory needs, processing pace, executive functioning, emotional expression)
Guided conversations around painful topics at a manageable pace
Time to develop a clear plan for next steps after the intensive
We move at a grounded, thoughtful pace—prioritizing emotional safety, consent, and accessibility. Partners are encouraged to take sensory breaks, request slower pacing, and name needs throughout.
